As expected, for the second year in a row, the Royals have traded Terrance Gore. This time, he’s off to the Yankees in exchange for cash considerations. Gore will not be immediately placed on the 40-man roster in pinstripes, per the Yankees’ announcement, as the deal was made after Gore was designated for assignment and cleared waivers.
Ideally, Gore will be put to good use in pinch-running situations down the road, and though somewhat unlikely at the major league level, could be given a closer look at the plate. As they look to secure a division title and make a deep postseason run, the Yankees clearly saw a potential solution to their current needs in Gore. We look forward to seeing how it plays out, and wish Terrance Gore all the best.
