  1. Patrick, thanks for all your hard work and inside information. I’ll be heading up to the complex the next 2 evenings to watch the minor league games. Excited about our High A team at Wilmington. Looks like we are overloaded with pitchers at AA – Northwest Arkansas.

  3. A couple of quick thoughts. Noticeably absent – Ashe Russell. Even a quick look proves that there are backups and blockages in the system with scrapheap signings at the M L level. Most notably the number of infielders and relievers at Omaha.

  4. Sending Jake Kalish back to AA is a slap in the face to a starting pitcher that proved he could be effective in AAA. Just another indication of Dayton overfilling the minors with other team’s cast offs over trusting his own farm system.

  5. Also surprised Edwards starting in AAA after his injury filled season last year. Also Machado should not be starting at AAA since he struggled so badly last year even at AA.
Then there is poor Duenez who gets “demoted” back to AA. I guess Royals assume Schwindel will be back in AAA in a couple weeks and they also had to make room for Cuthbert.
Toups is another that should not even be on a Royals roster because he has no future with all the other prospects waiting a chance. He must have friends in the Royals front office.
At least happy to see Griffin, Flores and Mejia are in AAA where they deserve to be.

  6. One last question. Do you know what happened to Danny Hrbek? Don’t see him listed and his MiLB page says he was released on March 23rd.
He and Tad Ratliff were non-drafted free agent signees in 2017 and both did well last year at Lexington.
Guess he got caught in the pitching crunch from all those outside acquisitions in the upper minors that forced a bunch of pitchers back to Wilmington.

  7. I thought KC would make a few minor league deals to thin out the pitching ranks a little. Guess they still could like they did with Castillo and Adam. We’ll see some movement in KC for first few weeks. I thought Toups would be starting SS in NWA since they didn’t have one.
