Check out Jared’s latest article in his “Get to know a Royals prospect” series where he profiles St. Joe native Noah Cameron.

From St. Joseph, MO (which is about an hour from Kauffman Stadium), Cameron was taken in the 7th round of the 2021 MLB Amateur Draft out of  the University of Central Arkansas. He got himself on the MLB draft map as a freshman at Central Arkansas where he went 6-2 with a 2.95 ERA while striking out 91 batters in 95.2 innings.

AAA Omaha (15-17): L 0-5

Omaha’s offense has been relatively anemic since MJ Melendez was called up to the big leagues. Nick Pratto finally returned from the 7-day concussion IL yesterday, but the Storm Chasers mustered just four hits against the Iowa Cubs. They’re back at it tonight at 7:08 pm with Austin Cox on the mound.

Box Score:
– Dairon Blanco: 2-4, 2B, SB, K
– Nick Pratto: 0-1, 2 BB, HBP
– Vinnie Pasquantino: 0-4, K
– Brewer Hicklen: 1-4, 2B, K
– Josh Dye: 3 IP, 3 H, 0 BB, 2 K, 1 ER

AA Northwest Arkansas (15-15): L 4-10

The Naturals have finally been cooled off a bit after going on quite the hot streak last week. Alec Marsh once again proved that his stuff is just too good for AA hitters last night, but his control is going to need some work before he’s big league ready. They’re back at it tonight at 7:05 with Drew Parrish on the mound.

Box Score:
– Maikel Garcia: 2-4, 2B
– Nick Loftin: 0-4, K
– Michael Massey: 1-4, HR
– Seuly Matias: 0-4, 2 K
– Nate Eaton: 1-4, K
– Robbie Glendinning: 1-4, 2B, K
– John Rave: 0-3, 2 K
– Alec Marsh: 3.1 IP, 3 H, 5 BB, 8 K, 3 ER
– Jonah Dipoto: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 1 K, 0 R

A+ Quad Cities (11-19): L 2-10

The River Bandits have lost five in a row and have been getting thumped with semi-regularity. The offense has had an issue with strikeouts lately and while they have some immense upside, they’ll need to be far more consistent to have a chance to defend their title this fall.

Box Score:
– Tyler Tolbert: 0-5, K
– Peyton Wilson: 2-4, K
– Herard Gonzalez: 0-0, BB
– Kale Emshoff: 2-4, K
– Burle Dixon: 1-3, HR, BB, 2 K
– Diego Hernandez: 2-4, SB
– Charlie Neuweiler: 4 IP, 2 H, 1 BB, 5 K, 2 ER
– Caden Monke: 3 IP, 4 H, 2 BB, 4 K, 3 ER
– Yohanse Morel: 1 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 4 ER
– Kasey Kalich: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 2 K, 0 R

A- Columbia (10-20): L 2-13

Columbia continues their struggles. Carter Jensen is single-handedly carrying this offense at times. The pitching staff is wildly inconsistent and the defense has been downright bad at times. Ben Hernandez will look to get on track tonight at 6:05.

Box Score:
– River Town: 1-4, 2B
– Carter Jensen: 2-4, HR, 2B, K
– Darryl Collins: 2-3, 2B, BB
– Rylan Kaufman: 3.1 IP, 6 H, 3 BB, 5 K, 4 ER
– Wander Arias: 3.1 IP, 7 H, 1 BB, 3 K, 3 ER
