2.) Bobby Witt Jr. – 44
3.) Clay Dungan / Nick Pratto / Edward Olivares – 40

I wrote down some thoughts about the Royals current status and how they should handle the trade deadline.

I didn’t mention Mike Minor as an option to be traded because I don’t think the Royals can afford to trade him at the moment unless someone absolutely blows their doors off. Danny Duffy hasn’t been healthy, Brad Keller has been bad, the young arms can’t get deep into their starts. The Royals really need this version of Mike Minor to eat some quality innings for them every fifth day if nothing else but for the health and well-being of the rest of their pitching staff.

AAA Omaha: Suspended, Rain

AA Northwest Arkansas (19-21): L 2-4

Rough night for the Naturals offense as they muster only 5 hits while striking out 7 times. Clay Dungan tripled, Nick Pratto doubled, and Rudy Martin, Bobby Witt Jr., and MJ Melendez singled. Witt Jr. and Martin also had walks in the game. On the mound, Angel Zerpa made his AA debut, striking out 9 batters and walking none while allowing 4 runs in 4.2 IP. Dylan Coleman fired 2 more hitless innings in relief, lowering his season ERA to 2.00. Drew Parrish will be on the bump tomorrow night for NWA.

A+ Quad Cities (27-14): L 3-4

Asa Lacy continues to make improvements in the K/BB category, striking out 6 and walking just 2 in 4 IP last night for the River Bandits. He did allow 6 hits and 3 runs. Vinnie Pasquantino and Nick Loftin both finished 2-4 at the plate for Quad Cities, Loftin adding his 6th double of the season. Jeison Guzman finished 1-3 with a walk. The River Bandits struck out 11 times and walked just 3 in the loss. Noah Murdock will take the mound for his first start of the season tomorrow night in Beloit. Unfortunately, Beloit does not have a MiLB.tv stream so we won’t have any video of the team this week.

A- Columbia (22-17): L 6-7

Rylan Kaufman continues to look good on the mound. He struck out 3 and walked none while allowing 3 runs in 5 IP last night. Emilio Marquez struck out 4 in 2.1 scoreless innings of relief. Offensively, Omar Hernandez finished 1-3 with a HR and a walk, Herard Gonzalez finished 3-5 with a triple, Juan Carlos Negret homered, and the Fireflies put 13 total runners on base in the loss. Cruz Noriega will take the ball to start things off tomorrow night.
