Alcides Escobar had another big night for the Storm Chasers, finishing 3-4 with a pair of doubles. He’s been great filling in at SS for Omaha, who is sort of SS-less at times, depending on who gets a day off periodically. Edward Olivares had another multi-hit game, finishing 2-4 with a double. Emmanuel Rivera finished 3-4 with a HR and a 2B. Grant Gavin struck out 3 batters in 1.1 innings of relief. Kyle Isbel walked it off for Omaha and the Storm Chasers have now won 5 straight games.
AA Northwest Arkansas (9-9): Suspended
A+ Quad Cities (14-6): L 6-7
Christian Chamberlain made his second professional appearance for Quad Cities last night and continued to be really impressive. Chamberlain finished with 4 K in 1.2 IP after Anthony Veneziano struck out 5 in 3.2 innings to start the game. Offensively, Nate Eaton finished 2-5 with his 3rd HR of the season for the River Bandits. Jimmy Govern finished 2-3 with his first HR of the year and a walk.
A- Columbia (13-8): W 10-5
Columbia just keeps on rollin’ with another great start from Adrian Alcantara last night. He did not allow a hit in 4 scoreless innings. Maikel Garcia started the game with a double and finished 1-4 with a walk. Darryl Collins hit his 1st HR of his professional career and finished 3-4. Brady McConnell hit his 3rd HR of the year, finishing 2-3 with a BB. Omar Hernandez also hit his 1st professional HR of his career in the victory.
