Minor League Minutes: 5/21/2021

AAA Omaha (8-6): L 1-16

Good game to forget about for Omaha. Gabe Speier threw the only clean inning for Omaha all day in the 8th. Edward Olivares finished 2-4 with a 2B. His OPS is now 1.168 on the season. Ryan McBroom his his 3rd HR of the season. That’s about all that was doing in this one.

AA Northwest Arkansas (6-6): PPD

NWA will make up their suspended game from Wednesday tonight before their regularly scheduled game.

A+ Quad Cities (10-4): L 3-4

Dante Biasi was absolutely dominant on the mound for QC in a losing effort last night. He allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 7 in 4 innings. Tyler Gentry doubled and Nate Eaton hit his 1st HR on the season, but it was an otherwise quiet night offensively. Grant Gambrell figures to be on the bump tonight for the River Bandits.

A- Columbia (9-6): W 7-1

Columbia is on a roll of late. The Fireflies tallied 10 hits and struck out just 8 times last night. They also walked 5 times. Brady McConnell, Jake Means, Diego Hernandez, and Jimmy Govern all doubled. Tyler Tolbert hit a pair of triples. Rylan Kaufman looked fantastic, striking out 5 in 4 IP. Emilio Marquez struck out 9 in 4 scoreless innings of relief. Nate Webb struck out the side in the 9th. The Columbia pitching staff combined for 17 K and 0 BB. Cruz Noriega will have to follow that performance up tonight when he takes the mound for the Fireflies.
