AAA Omaha (6-3): L 7-10
Omaha was leading 7-3 in the 8th inning and then Collin Snider went full Rylan Kaufman, giving up 6 hits and 7 ER without recording a single out. Never go full Rylan Kaufman. Kyle Isbel finished the game 2-4 with a 3B and a BB, pushing his OPS at Omaha to .837. Anderson Miller continues to impress at AAA, hitting his 3rd HR of the year last night in a 3-4 effort with that HR plus a BB. His season OPS is now up to 1.096.
AA Northwest Arkansas (5-4): L 2-4
NWA couldn’t get the offense going again tonight despite the presence of Adalberto Mondesi. Alec Marsh only allowed 4 baserunners all night, but they were all consecutive and the final one being a HR that became an insurmountable lead. He struck out 11 and walked just 1 in what was really a dominant effort on the mound. Nick Pratto finished the game 2-3 with a 2B, a HR, and a BB. Bobby Witt Jr. walked a couple of times and stole a base. MJ Melendez hit his first single of the year. Dennicher Carrasco went deep.
A+ Quad Cities (6-3): L 2-6
Another slow night offensively for the River Bandits. Nate Eaton finished 1-2 with a pair of walks. Vinnie Pasquantino walked a couple of times. Garrett Davila struck out 3 in 3 scoreless innings of relief.
A- Columbia (6-4): W 9-4
The offense came alive again for Columbia last night. Jake Means and Kale Emshoff both tallied two hits in the game, Means did so while hitting his 2nd HR on the year and Emshoff while hitting his 4th double. All but one Firefly reached base at least once in the victory. LHP Walter Pennington struck out 5 in two perfect innings of relief. Rylan Kaufman looked infinitely better than his 2021 debut, striking out 6 in 3 innings of relief.
