It was announced today that per Dayton Moore, our No. 6 prospect Kyle Isbel has made the Opening Day roster for the Kansas City Royals. Isbel was added to the 40-man roster after Daniel Tillo was transferred to the 60-Day IL.
Isbel had a fantastic spring, posting a .968 OPS over 42 ABs. He started earning starts with the big league club with regularity towards the end of spring as the likes of other top prospects from the Royals and other organizations started to head to minor league camps.
Kyle Isbel was drafted by the Royals in the 3rd round of the 2018 Draft out of UNLV. Across ROK, Low-A, and High-A, he’s slashed .284/.347/.455 in 534 PA. He also hit well in the Arizona Fall League, posting a .315/.429/.438/.867 in 91 PA.
Congrats, Kyle! Welcome to The Show!
