ICYMI: The Arizona Fall League rosters were announced.

Gabriel Cancel, 1B

I’m not a fan of the 1B designation for Cancel this fall, but I guess he could still mix in at 2B while he’s there as well. I have heard from within the organization that they want Cancel to start working out at 1B more, but I am not 100% sure how to feel about it. It’s good knowing that they want to try to find the kid playing time, but a move from 2B to 1B takes a significant hit out of Cancel’s prospect value.

Lexington wins game 1, 2-1.

7 innings of 1-run ball from Heasley and 2 scoreless innings of relief from Brandon Marklund paved the way.

Jeison Guzman homered and finished 3-4.

Burlington drops game 3, 8-6. Hell of a season from the Royals Appalachian League affiliate. That team is going to be a ton of fun following to the South Atlantic League next year with the Legends.

Just realized that Charlie Neuweiler finished 29th among all qualified MiLB pitchers this year in strikeouts with 153.

Outside of a rough 7 start stretch in May and June, Neuweiler posted an ERA of 3.00 in 117 IP across 20 starts. Excited to see him in Wilmington next year.
