Royals Owner David Glass has agreed to sell the franchise to John Sherman

Now just a few short days later the sale of the club has been made official, John Sherman and a local group of investors have purchased the club from the Glass family for approximately $1 billion dollars. The sale of the club would still need to be approved by the other owners, therefore it won’t be finalized until the owners’ meeting in November.

Hicklen has had a phenomenal season in Wilmington and will wrap things up in “prospect finishing school” this fall. He’s hit .269/.371/.437/.808 with 14 HR, 12 2B, and 7 3B in 121 games in High-A this season. He figures to move to AA Northwest Arkansas to begin 2020.
