Friday Roll Call: 8/30/19

Playoffs are going full tilt for the DSL Royals 1 team.  They lead the semi’s 1-0 over the DSL Rangers 1.

The Burlington Royals start their playoff run tonight at home against the Pulaski Yankees.

I put our teams that are already in the playoffs on the top, that way we can bring attention to them.  The Royals play the Orioles tonight in what some call the toilet bowl.  It’s a series of teams working for the number one overall pick for the 2020 draft.  The Royals and Orioles are respectively sitting at 2 and 3 right now.  This series is big.  I really wish we had meaningful baseball going on in the majors right now.

Jake Kalish is throwing for Omaha.  He still has a chance to earn a spot in the majors one day.

Jackson Kowar is throwing tonight for the Naturals.  Kowar is possibly the top prospect in the entire system depending on who you talk too.  He will probably be in the majors next season.

Jonathan Bowlan is throwing in Wilmington.  He is another arm that has really taken a step forward this year.  I’m looking forward to seeing him when he gets to NWA.

I believe Jon Heasley will throw for Lexington.  Don’t quote me on that though because I was guessing based on their past rotation but they’ve had a few rain days lately.

Bryar Johnson was a raw high school pick out of Myrtle Beach a few years ago.
