The DSL Royals 1 team started playoffs yesterday with a win over the DSL Rockies. Here is the box for the 9-7 victory.
Alex Gordon and Humberto Arteaga got to pitch yesterday for the Royals. It was not a good night but Royals fans had fun watching position players pitching.
Yesterday I wrote a quick review about the week the Naturals had. NWA Week in Review: August 19-25.
The Arizona Royals scored 5 in the first inning en route to a 10-7 victory. There were four players who recorded a three-hit game including Bobby Witt, Jr.
The Burlington Royals won 3-2. Marlin Willis started and has been throwing the ball well recently. That streak continued yesterday.
Idaho Falls had an off day.
Lexington got rained out.
The Blue Rocks got beat 3-1 and Kris Bubic took the loss. He allowed 2 runs in 7.0 innings so it’s not like he pitched poorly. They just didn’t score enough runs.
Brady Singer earned the win for the Naturals going 7.0 innings and allowing 1 run. Khalil Lee had two hits and stole another base.
Arnaldo Hernandez gave up 1 hit in 8.0 innings for the Storm Chasers. That was a first inning double to the third batter of the game. Other than that, only one other batter reached on a walk and he was promptly erased on a double play. Arnaldo Hernandez is still a good pitcher who works in the mid-90’s, he just had a bad year with a juiced baseball.
