Minor League Minutes: 8/15/19

Check out the Royals Farm podcast.

Brad Keller was stellar for 6.0. Then lost his no-hit bid in the 7th. Keller isn’t exactly home grown but he is a Rule 5 investment that you could say the Royals helped develope.

The Storm Chasers had the day off.

The Naturals had a dominate start from Brady Singer. He went 7.0 innings combining with Grant Gavin and Tyler Zuber for a shutout. Story from MILB.com on Singer allowing just 4 hits and 2 BB with 9 strike outs.

The Blue Rocks game was suspended on the top of the 9th with a 2-2 score.

Yohansel Morel didn’t make it out of the 1st inning for the Legends.  The Legends got beat 11-1 but Bryce Hensley did throw 5.0 innings in relief without allowing a run to save the bullpen.

The B-Royals had the day off.

The Chukars got beat 6-5 giving up a run in the bottom of the 8th.  Juan Carlos Negret hit his 9th homer of the year while Stephen Vidal hit his 2nd.

The Arizona Royals got beat 7-6.  Bobby Witt Jr. and Herard Gonzalez each had two hits while Jimmy Govern had three.  The A-Royals are now 26-18.

Clayton Kershaw tied Sandy Koufax on the Dodgers all-time win list and had 7 consecutive strikeouts to open the game.  He had Lewis Brinson down 0-2 looking for his 8th but Brinson grounded out to short.

Bryce Harper homered twice while JT Realmuto hit a grand slam and the Phillies won 11-1.
