Minor League Minutes: August 7, 2019

Royals 6, Red Sox 2.

The Storm Chasers had the day off.

NWA lost again. They are now 45-66.

Tad Ratliff vultured a win from Rito Lugo who has a 2.74 ERA in 25 games at Wilmington this season. You can read a Prospect Watch on Tad Ratliff here.

Lexington won and hit a couple of homers. They didn’t write a follow up story but here is the box score.

Any time the Royals beat up on the Cardinals it’s a good day. The Burlington Royals have hammered the Johnson City Cardinals the last two days. It was a good day. Also, Logan Porter won the Uncle Ray’s Player of the Month award for the Appalachian League. Porter hit .382/.520/.724 over the last month.

The Chukars got some hardware of their own Tuesday. Nathan Webb won the Pioneer League’s pitcher of the week award. The Chukars have the day off.

Emilio Marquez was throwing a gem for the Arizona Royals. Here is the box score.

Some injury news from the big league club: Duffy hurt his hammy and is expected to miss two to three weeks. Jorge Lopez is expected to make starts for Duffy. Jake Newberry to the ‘pen. Salvy is throwing from 45 feet and making progress. He is with the team. Mondesi could return in as little as two weeks. He has been taking grounders and hitting off a tee.

Some injury news on the minor league front: Seuly Matias out for the year. He had been playing with an injury, just got to be too much I take it.

With Stephen Piscotty’s home run last night, the A’s now have 10 players with double-digit homers. A new team record.

Former Royals minor leaguer David McKay who was traded for $1 has been released and picked up by the Tigers.
