Minor League Minutes: 7/20/19

Travis has the Storm Chasers week in review

Ryan O’Hearn – 1B:  O’Hearn has been on a hot tear recently, highlighted by a 10 game hitting streak going into Monday, July 15th.  He didn’t start in the game when he was called upon to pinch hit for d’Arnaud (not an easy task for hitters at any level,) and flied out.  During that 10-game streak, O’Hearn had 13 hits, including three home runs and 10 RBI, and raised his batting average to .270.  He blasted another home run on Tuesday, giving him a total of six on the season, and added four more RBI.  He is currently putting up a slash-line of .274/.364/.537 for his AAA season.

  1. What harm is there in leaving Phillips at Omaha until September? He had quite a few ABs last summer in majors and did not do well. Then he started poorly in Omaha this year. Would like to see Bubba get plenty of ABs in majors to evaluate him now. Next year there will be plenty of ABs in outfield for both players if they earn them.
