Breaking: Royals Select Arizona State Pitcher Alec Marsh #70 Overall

The Royals’ #70 overall selection is in! Alec Marsh, welcome to the Royals. A junior right-handed pitcher selected out of Arizona State University, Marsh sets himself apart in an awesome, effective way with his competitive nature on the mound. According to scouts, he has four pitches he can throw for strikes, including a heater with cut and sink. A 21 year old, 6’2”, 220 pound pitcher, Marsh is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he attended Ronald Reagan High School.

Marsh does not just have 4 effective pitches. He’s also been very consistent on the mound, especially in 2019. He has allowed 3 earned runs or fewer in 31 of his last 34 appearances dating back to his freshman season, and was named an All-Pac-12 First Team selection. He has also posted quality starts in 16 of his 23 starts since midway through the 2018 season, assuming the nickname “Mr. Friday Night” around that time.

Marsh is a Sports Business and Media major at Arizona State, and loves to fish when he isn’t playing baseball.
