The Royals System is loaded with some very promising pitching prospects. Just take a look at the “Big Four” that started the week in Wilmington Brady Singer, Daniel Lynch, Jackson Kowar, and Kris Bubic before Singer got the call to Northwest Arkansas. What we saw in Omaha Wednesday night was not so promising.
Omaha
The Storm Chasers never really had a chance at home after a rough outing by former highly touted prospect Foster Griffin. Omaha did scatter 9 hits but never was in the ball game
Box Score:
Cheslor Cuthbert- 2-4, HR
Jorge Bonifacio- 2-4, HR, 2 RBI
Humberto Arteaga- 2-5
Bubba Starling- 1-4, double
Brett Phillips-1-3
Foster Griffin- 4 IP, 11 ER (12 R), 10 Hits
Ben Lively- 2 IP, 0 ER
Tim Hill- 2 IP, 0 ER
Northwest Arkansas
Due to inclement weather the meeting between Arkansas and Northwest Arkansas was postponed. They will host Arkansas for a Double Header starting at 4:30 PM Central today. Also, Brandy Singer makes his AA debut Saturday night at Springfield.
Wilmington
Not the best start to the game for Jackson Kowar but he battled and kept his team in the game giving up just 3 and the Blue Rocks come alive with 4 go-ahead runs in the top of the 8th to take game one at Fayetteville.
Ricky Aracena – 2-3, 2 RBI double
MJ Melendez- 1-3
Brewer Hicklin- 1-3, 2 RBI single
Kowar- 7 IP, 3 ER, 5K (2 Run HR given up in the first)
Also, we all know what Daniel Lynch has to offer but he is now in the MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospects list!
Lexington
A scheduled off day Wednesday gives way for a 6:05 Central time first pitch at home against Charleston this evening.
