We were busy at Royals Farm Report yesterday. This should catch you up on all of the action.
Nicky Lopez was promoted from AAA Omaha.
This is it Kansas City. Your hero has arrived. Lopez was slashing .353/.457/.500/.957 with 3 HR and 9 SB in 31 games with AAA Omaha. He’ll now get a chance to prove himself at the big league level.
Jordan recaps the seasons to date for the 2018 draft crop of pitchers.

Kris Bubic remains a strong candidate for promotion. His start on May 10th was marred by some command issues and a pitch count that ran high early. Bubic allowed a season high 4 walks in just 3.2 innings, despite that he was able to increase his K/9 by striking out 8 of the 20 batters he faced.
The Lexington Legends starting rotation has been dominant to begin 2019.
Well hello there, Chuck Nasty. As I’m writing this, Neuweiler just wrapped up an impressive 6 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 3 BB and 7 K performance. That start follows up back-to-back 9 K games might I mention. So, needless to say Neuweiler has been rolling as of late. Through 8 starts (44.0 IP) this year he is 1-2 with a 2.86 ERA, 20 walks. 45 strikeouts and a 1.16 WHIP. Opposing batters have managed a measly 0.194 average against him.
What the hell happened to the offense?
Kansas City has had, legitimately, MAYBE 5 guys to be really excited about on the farm offensively. Kyle Isbel was destroying the baseball before straining his hamstring. Gabriel Cancel is off to a magnificent start to his first go at AA. Nicky Lopez looks fantastic. Kelvin Gutierrez was hitting the ball well but now he’s in KC. Bubba is hitting singles, but at least he’s hitting. Outside of that…it’s been ROUGH early on.
