Frank Schwindel has finally made his major league debut. A lot of people argued that Schwindel should have been called up last year instead of Ryan O’Hearn, but Yost wanted the left-handed bat. Now Schwindel gets his chance.
Schwindel went 0-4 but reached on an error two separate times in the Royals 5-3 win. In his other two at bats, Schwindel popped to first base and to third base.
Schwindel only had one ball hit to him, a Jose Abreu pop up.
I recently wrote about his ability to be an emergency catcher.
Patrick wrote about why Schwindel isn’t a top prospect back in late 2017 and also wrote a prospect watch on him in early 2018.
