AFL Week in Review: November 5-11

This was the second to last week of the Arizona Fall League.  These players are trying to finish strong while tired from a full year of baseball.  The Saguaros are sitting at 10-16.  The season wasn’t great but a lot of lessons were learned and a lot of experience was gained.

On Monday, November 5, Nick Heath hit eighth as the DH for the Saguaros.  He went 0-3 with 1 BB, 2 K, and stolen base number 11 on the season.  Arnaldo Hernandez also threw 2.0 innings allowing no runs on 2 H, 0 BB, and 1 K.

On Tuesday, Khalil Lee played CF and hit ninth for Surprise.  He went 0-3 with a run, 2 BB, 2 K, and a stolen base.  Scott Blewett made the start for the Saguaros and recorded his fourth win on the season.  Blewett threw 4.0 innings while allowing 1 ER on 4 H, 0 BB, and 1 K.  He lowered his AFL ERA to 2.21.

Wednesday had the most game action for Royals prospects with four playing in the Saguaros victory.  Lee hit second and played CF and went 1-4 with 3 K.  Meibrys Viloria caught and hit eighth.  He went 1-4 with 2 K.  Heath hit ninth and played LF going 1-2 with a triple, run, BB, K, and was caught stealing.

Thursday was a league wide off day.

Friday Heath played LF and batted ninth.  He went 1-3 with an oppo single.  Hernandez pitch 1.0 innings and although he didn’t allow a run or a hit, he did walk 3 batters.  Hernandez lowered his season AFL ERA to 1.26.

On Saturday, Lee hit sixth and played RF.  He was 0-4 with a BB and a K.
