This was the second to last week of the Arizona Fall League. These players are trying to finish strong while tired from a full year of baseball. The Saguaros are sitting at 10-16. The season wasn’t great but a lot of lessons were learned and a lot of experience was gained.
On Monday, November 5, Nick Heath hit eighth as the DH for the Saguaros. He went 0-3 with 1 BB, 2 K, and stolen base number 11 on the season. Arnaldo Hernandez also threw 2.0 innings allowing no runs on 2 H, 0 BB, and 1 K.
On Tuesday, Khalil Lee played CF and hit ninth for Surprise. He went 0-3 with a run, 2 BB, 2 K, and a stolen base. Scott Blewett made the start for the Saguaros and recorded his fourth win on the season. Blewett threw 4.0 innings while allowing 1 ER on 4 H, 0 BB, and 1 K. He lowered his AFL ERA to 2.21.
Wednesday had the most game action for Royals prospects with four playing in the Saguaros victory. Lee hit second and played CF and went 1-4 with 3 K. Meibrys Viloria caught and hit eighth. He went 1-4 with 2 K. Heath hit ninth and played LF going 1-2 with a triple, run, BB, K, and was caught stealing.
Thursday was a league wide off day.
Friday Heath played LF and batted ninth. He went 1-3 with an oppo single. Hernandez pitch 1.0 innings and although he didn’t allow a run or a hit, he did walk 3 batters. Hernandez lowered his season AFL ERA to 1.26.
On Saturday, Lee hit sixth and played RF. He was 0-4 with a BB and a K.
