Minor League Minutes: 8/6/18

Last chance to catch up on our mid-season top 100 list before we release our top Royals prospect later today.

Outside the power, he also owns one of the best arms in the organization and looks like an easy 70-grade to me. No chance he’ll move away from the corners in the outfield, but he’s capable out there and his bat has the potential to easily profile there.

Nick Heath is a fantastic interview, check out what he had to say about his success here.

Nick: “It’s awesome to know that the things we’ve been blessed with, like speed and defense are valued here. Makes us feel a little more at home, like we’re truly apart of this organization rather than maybe getting lost in the mix.

Kort Peterson stays hot.

Improving Power

The interesting development since being drafted is Peterson’s improving power.  Here he is hitting a homer off a lefty for the Naturals.

Don’t miss this awesome story by Matthew LaMar over at Royals Review: Chasing Dyson.

And for a quartet of Royals minor league players—Rudy Martin and teammates Nick Heath, DJ Burt, and Blake Perkins—Dyson isn’t just a nice story. Rather, for them, Dyson’s path represents their best path to the promised land of Major League Baseball. For them, chasing Dyson isn’t only a metaphor, but a dream.
