With the 272 overall pick (ninth round) in the 2018 MLB Draft, the Royals have selected their first high school player–Kevon Jackson, outfielder from Queen Creek High School in Queen Creek, Arizona.

According to Maxpreps.com, Jackson is a 5’8″ centerfielder who hit .364 with a .456 OBP in 29 games this year.
