Saturday, May 5 vs New Orleans Baby Cakes:

It also rained a little bit before and during the game. The weather was perfect for a baseball game and the Baby Cakes took advantage of it. Andres Machado keeps trying to work himself into a demotion to AA by going 5.0 innings giving up nine earned runs on a whopping 14 hits including a home run. He would also give up two walks and a strike out. Richard Lovelady came in for 2.0 innings and had a rough game also. He gave up three earned runs on four hits with one walk. Josh Staumount continued to put heat blisters on the ball going 2.0 innings giving up one walk and striking out four batters. The offense must have been in such awe of Mike Sweeney being there that they forgot they were in a game as they were only able to manage four hits and two runs. Jack Lopez hit his first home run in the ninth inning after Bubba Starling managed the only other RBI earlier in the game. Storm Chasers loose 2-13 with Machado (0-4) taking his fourth loss.
