  1. This class is absolutely loaded with pitching. McClanahan, Rocker, Cate, Singer, Hankins, Mize, Kowar, Hjelle, are all guys I would loooooove to see in KC. And there is a chance that none of them will be available at 18.
  2. Three local kids were selected in the top 32. OF Greyson Jenista and 3B Alec Bohm from Wichita State, and SS Jeremy Eierman from Missouri State.
  3. I’m not sure how, but I managed to land Kumar Rocker at 12 to add to a loaded Toronto system, and Brice Turang at 8 for an even more loaded Braves system. I was really happy with the value I got for both of those picks.
  4. Drake selected Alec Bohm, RHP Tristan Beck, OF Trevor Larnach, and RHP Luke Bartniki for the Royals. You’ll want to read about them in Drake’s analysis of each player next week.
  5. I would consider a lot of the players taken after the Royals first pick at 18 to be better prospects than some of KC’s options at 14 last year. This draft is incredibly deep, and I think the Royals picked a great year to have 4 of the first 39 picks.
