AAA – Omaha Storm Chasers

Final Score: Omaha 6 – El Paso 5

Ryan O’Hearn and Cam Gallagher continue to rip the cover off of the ball for the Storm Chasers, as they both finished 3-5 with a BB in Sunday’s contest against El Paso. O’Hearn’s effort included a 2B and 2 RBI while Gallagher included an RBI and is now hitting .297 on the year. Gallagher continues to be one of my under-the-radar trade-bait pieces on the season.

Dean Anna and Frank Schwindel stayed hot as they both homered in Sunday’s contest. Anna finished 2-5 with a BB while Schwindel finished 1-6 on the day.

Cheslor Cuthbert finished the game 1-6 as he continues his AAA rehab assignment. I imagine the Royals will drag out that assignment for as long as possible.

On the mound for Omaha, Pedro Fernandez, Sam Selman, and Eric Stout all threw 2 scoreless innings in relief for Omaha, striking out a combined 8 while walking only 2. The 3 relievers combined to only allow 4 total baserunners in 6 innings on Sunday.

AA – Northwest Arkansas Naturals

Final Score: Tulsa 7 – NWA 8

Paulo Orlando stayed hot during his rehab assignment on Sunday, going 2-2 with a 2B and a BB.

Nicky Lopez continues to hit in the leadoff role for NWA, finishing 3-4 with a 2B, an RBI, and 2 runs scored on Sunday. His average is now .295 on the season at AA.

Donnie Dewees Jr. finished the game 2-4 with an RBI and 2 SB.

Josh Staumont’s struggles continued on the mound for NWA, but Tim Hill threw 4 excellent innings in relief allowing no runs while striking out 3 and only allowing 1 hit.

High-A – Wilmington Blue Rocks

Final Score: WIL 3 – FRE 4

A.J. Puckett threw 6 phenomenal innings on Sunday afternoon for Wilmington, as the Blue Rocks starter struck out 4 while only allowing 1 run. Puckett’s ERA is now 3.87.

Brandon Downes and Chris DeVito both finished game 1 2-4 with an RBI. DeVito hit his 8th HR on the year for Wilmington.
Final Score: WIL1 – FRE 2

Colin Rodgers got the start for Wilmington in game 2 of the DH, and he allowed only 1 run in 4 innings of work on Sunday, striking out 3.

Brandon Downes finished the 2nd game 0-1 but walked 3 times for the Blue Rocks.

Wander Franco finished 2-4.

Low-A – Lexington Legends

Final Score: LEX 1 – WV 7

Yeison Melo was just about the only bright spot offensively on Sunday for Lexington, as he finished 1-4 for the Legends and is now hitting .291.

Cody Nesbit threw a perfect inning in relief for the Legends, striking out 2. His ERA is still 0.00 at Low-A.

Rookie – Idaho Falls Chukars

Final Score: IDF 5 – HEL 10

Robby Rinn finished Sunday 3-5 with a 2B and a run scored to lead the way offensively for Idaho Falls.

Travis Jones finished the game 2-4 with 2 runs scored and is now hitting .529 in IDF.

Damon Olds threw 1 perfect inning in relief with 2 K.

Rookie – Burlington Royals

Final Score: BRS 9 – BUR 10

Seuly Matias continues his outrageous climb up the Royals prospect rankings, as he hit his 5th HR of the year on Sunday and finished 3-5 with 5 RBI. He’s now hitting .298 and looks more and more like a top prospect every single day.

Michael Gigliotti finished 3-4 with a BB and an RBI Sunday, and he’s now hitting .357 with Burlington.

Dennicher Carrasco finished 2-4 and the Burlington 1B man is now hitting .294 with Burlington.

Tyler Zuber threw a scoreless inning in relief for Burlington. His ERA is down to 2.51.
