Nicky Lopez, SS; Yunior Marte, RHP; Anderson Miller, LF; and Richard Lovelady (seen above), LHP; will all head to AA Northwest Arkansas in a move that will see 4 exciting prospects get a chance to show off their talents at the next level.
Nicky Lopez, one of the more under rated prospects in the Royals system, was hitting .295/.376/.407 with 14 SB for the Wilmington Blue Rocks.
Yunior Marte had 42 Ks in only 36.1 IP for the Blue Rocks, mostly in relief.
Anderson Miller was hitting .290/.378/.439 at High-A with 15 SB.
Richard Lovelady, another one of the more under rated prospects in the Royals farm system, had a ridiculous 41:4 K:BB ratio in 33.1 IP in relief for the Blue Rocks. With a mid-90’s fastball and a WHIP of .66, Lovelady has a bright future ahead of him in the Royals bullpen.
This move ought to excite Royals fans, as it appears that the next wave of young talent is quickly making it’s way to Kansas City. With guys like Kyle Zimmer, Bubba Starling, Jorge Soler, and Raul Mondesi knocking on the door, you can expect guys like Nicky Lopez and Anderson Miller and company to fill their shoes in the not too distant future.
